PROCESS
The redesigning and expansion of an existing wildlife museum would take much research and understanding of the very specific needs for all end users.
An open floor plan, new auditorium and new vetinary facilites within the same building was challanging but, would prove to give way to a successful design. Making sure that each space served it's particular need without hindering the other spaces would serve as a guide map for the design process.
VETINARY CLINIC
Clean and open space will allow for doctors and techs to care for the small and large animals that live and will be rehabilitated onsite. Research of how best to care for animals and the day to day use of the space by animal experts helped our team choose the correct materials and finishes. Making sure that every area was easily cleanable and sanitary was of upmost importance
WILDLIFE MUSEUM
A new and mordern approach to the existing museum would call for an open floor plan with a system of walls and ceiling elements that would allow for moving and changing of exhibitions. The central and stationary element of the space serves as an information and admission stand that mimics the bracnhes of a tree.
